Persuasive Writing

On Friday, our class shared their writing at Celebration. This term, we have been learning how to write a persuasive piece of text. We read a book called 'The Very Spooky House'. It was about some naughty monsters who had been eating popcorn. The children had to decide whether or not they thought the monsters should be allowed to eat the popcorn. Room 3 have also done a fantastic job at creating some lovely artwork to go with their stories!

Baking Biscuits

On Thursday, Room 3 learnt how to make biscuits. We were planning on giving these to Roger (Reremoana's previous BOT chairperson), however they smelt so delicious that we ate them all. Miss Ashworth went home and made some more for Roger's farewell gift!

Making Butter

For Inquiry this term, the Junior Syndicate are learning about kitchen chemistry, with a link to how cooking has changed over the past 100 years.
On Friday, Room 3 made butter out of cream. We poured the cream into a jar, and took turns at shaking it for about 10 minutes. We then had some creamy butter to make fairy bread out of. We all had a lot of fun!

Road Safety with Constable Nikki

This week, we have been lucky to have Constable Nikki come into our class twice, to teach us about road safety. She has been teaching us about crossing the road safely, and making sure we always wear our seatbelts.

Fitness with Constable Nikki.
